All layers are raster-derived H3 hexes (one row per H3 cell; no vector GeoParquet / PMTiles). Selected layers also ship a visualization COG.
Every layer carries an h5 column — the res-5 layers as native (parents h4,h3,h0),
the res-8 layers as an h5 parent — so all layers meet at the paper's res-5 decision unit
(~8000 ha). h0 is the hive partition key. Check each hex asset's h3:native_resolution /
h3:parent_resolutions in the STAC for the exact set.
⚠️ Reducer semantics matter. Revenue / methane / FLII are densities — aggregate across cells with
AVG/MIN/MAX, neverSUM. Transition costs are per-cell USD totals —SUMis correct.nodata(0) is excluded during hexing. See the STAC per-column descriptions for the exact value column and units of each layer.
