This publication is a mirror of the JRC (European Commission Joint Research Centre) global map of forest cover 2020, version 4. It is one global Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF that categorizes land into either forest or non-forest land at 10 meter resolution. We mirror from the JEODPP FTP server to a modern object storage solution.
Version 3 is deprecated by the JRC and has been removed from JEODPP. We keep our copy of it under v3/ because its URL is in use. New work must use v4/.

Nothing. We mirror each file unchanged. JEODPP gives no checksum, so we verify each mirror ourselves.
For V4 the sha256 of the bytes streamed from JEODPP equals the sha256 of the object read back from source.coop.
The grid is identical between V3 and V4. The map follows the FAO forest definition. The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) uses this definition too. Note that the JRC publishes this forest cover baseline alongside the TMF and GFT2020 products.
