Icechunks using Copernicus Globcolour data
This is an icechunk for Copernicus globColour products. Note Copernicus provides a Zarr lazy load of its data with:
The icechunk provides an alternate access via a virtual store on Source Coop (AWS us-west-2). This will be faster in the US but slower, sometimes much much slower, in the EU and slower than using Copernicus' JupyterHub which is on CloudFerro in the same region as their data.
Use create_default_indexes=False in open_zarr() to circumvent the high I/O cost associated with creating the coords. Doesn't seem to affect xarray much. This will be particularly noticeable when I/O latency is high, e.g. when outside of US. The icechunk is in AWS us-west-2.
