The catalog provides downloadable vector data as GeoParquet and PMTiles. It covers cadastral parcels, buildings, addresses, administrative units, the 2017 base map, CORINE land cover, forestry, flood models, utilities, grids, and the national geodetic network.
This is a curated catalog, not a complete copy of the portal. Large renderer label layers and superseded linework are excluded. The reasons and measured counts are recorded in known issues.
Collections named wms_* contain links to live WMS layers, not downloadable
data. WFS or WCS access is unavailable for those layers.
GeoParquet files preserve MOLDREF99 / Moldova TM (EPSG:4026), a projected CRS measured in metres. PMTiles use Web Mercator because web tiles require it.
Do not apply WGS84 coordinates directly to EPSG:4026 geometries. Transform the query geometry or transform the data explicitly.
DuckDB can read the published GeoParquet files directly:
Large files include a bbox column and GeoParquet covering metadata. Add a
bbox predicate before an exact spatial predicate so DuckDB can skip unrelated
row groups. Collection agent guides contain examples based on measured schemas.
The catalog uses CC-BY-4.0 with attribution to the Agenția Geodezie, Cartografie și Cadastru (AGCC) and technical operator Î.S. INGEOCAD.
The source publishes no license text. It reports Fees: NONE and
AccessConstraints: NONE. CC-BY-4.0 is the mirror’s assertion and has not been
confirmed by AGCC. WMS-only collections link to material served directly by
AGCC; the mirror claims no ownership of that material.
Metadata and build tools are maintained at github.com/nlebovits/moldova-geodata. Source wording and measured data take precedence over translations. Corrections to Romanian, Russian, or English terminology are welcome as pull requests.
