Land Use
Land use assigned to each parcel in Philadelphia, maintained by the City Planning Commission. Land use records the activity on the ground, such as residential, commercial, or industrial, rather than what zoning permits.
Every parcel gets one of nine major classifications in c_dig1, and where possible a narrower sub-classification in c_dig2 and c_dig3. Residential dominates at 471,793 of 559,077 parcels, followed by vacant at 48,464 and commercial at 22,607.

Processing Notes
Extracted 2026-08-26 from the Land_Use FeatureServer. 29 invalid geometries were repaired with shapely.make_valid. Reordered with gpio sort hilbert so row groups carry spatial locality. Category labels were derived from the populated rows of c_dig1desc; see AGENTS.md for the query.

Known Issues
The description columns are inconsistent. 515,369 of 559,077 rows (92%) store a bare digit in c_dig1desc rather than a label, so a reader sees "1" instead of "1 Residential". c_dig2desc and c_dig3desc behave the same way.
The numeric code columns c_dig1, c_dig2, and c_dig3 are clean and fully populated. Every style in this collection keys on the code, and AGENTS.md gives a CASE expression that maps codes to labels.
