God's Eye View bundled datasets

Static geospatial datasets mirrored from the God's Eye View project (src/data/local_data/), republished here so applications can stream them instead of vendoring several megabytes of GeoJSON into every build.

Published by opengeos for use by GeoLibre. Tracking issue: opengeos/GeoLibre#2462.

Licensing is per directory and not uniform. Two directories are not openly licensed. Read LICENSE before using or redistributing anything here.

Every directory keeps the original upstream README.md (or SOURCE.md) describing provenance, extraction filters, and transforms. DATA_SOURCES.md at the root is the upstream project-wide attribution and licensing summary.

datacenters/

OpenStreetMap-derived datacenter features. The public snapshot removes contact-oriented tags (email, phone, fax, mobile, WhatsApp); the remaining fields are feature identity, geometry, name, operator, and capacity metadata.

Upstream records that the original extraction date and Overpass query were not captured for this snapshot. Treat it as an undated extract. A future refresh should record both.

dams/

Extracted from decoded Open Infrastructure Map PostGIS layers, filtered on waterway=dam, man_made=dam, or building=dam. The same contact-field privacy transform is applied. dams.geojson and dams.geojsonl carry identical content in FeatureCollection and line-delimited form.

natural_earth/

Named physical and marine region polygons from Natural Earth 10m physical vectors (ne_10m_geography_regions_polys, ne_10m_geography_marine_polys), via nvkelso/natural-earth-vector at commit ca96624a56bd078437bca8184e78163e5039ad19. Curated upstream: named features only, outer rings only, Douglas-Peucker simplified at 0.01 degrees, coordinates rounded to 3 decimals. Drake Passage and Luzon Strait are absent because they exist only as sliver artifacts in the source.

neighborhoods/

San Francisco Analysis Neighborhoods from DataSF (dataset j2bu-swwd), retrieved 2026-07-30. Simplified with a 2e-5 degree tolerance and rounded to 6 decimals. Names are kept verbatim from the nhood column.

telegeography_submarine_cables/

Submarine cable routes and landing points from TeleGeography's Submarine Cable Map, downloaded 2026-05-24.

This directory is NonCommercial and is not open data. See LICENSE. Applications are encouraged to fetch this data live from TeleGeography's public endpoints rather than depend on this copy:

source.json records sha256 checksums for both files, so a mirrored copy can be verified against the upstream capture.

cctv_ground_heights/

Precomputed ground heights under CCTV camera positions and their monitor-plane support points, in WGS84 ellipsoidal metres, generated by sampling Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles.

Upstream states no license for this dataset, and the upstream DATA_SOURCES.md separately notes that Google Maps Content may not be cached, stored, rehosted, or committed. Whether these derived height measurements fall under that restriction is unresolved. See LICENSE before using or redistributing this directory.
