Residential population grid for 2025 from the European Commission JRC's GHS-POP R2023A (Global Human Settlement Layer), global, 3 arc-second (~90 m) in WGS84, as Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF tiles.
Global residential population grid from the Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL), release R2023A, produced by the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC). Each cell holds the estimated number of residents. Census and administrative population counts from CIESIN GPWv4.11 are disaggregated to grid cells using the distribution and volume of built-up areas mapped by GHSL.
This collection holds the 2025 epoch, a projection, in WGS84 (EPSG:4326) at 3 arc-seconds (about 90 m at the equator).
