• USFWS Critical Habitat (Final + Proposed) — ESA-designated critical habitat for species under USFWS jurisdiction.

The USFWS National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) is published in the separate public-wetlands bucket alongside Ramsar and GLWD; it is not duplicated here.

USFWS Critical Habitat

Critical habitat under the Endangered Species Act for species under USFWS jurisdiction (terrestrial and freshwater). Two layers:

Marine species and stream-line critical habitat for salmonids and other species under NOAA NMFS jurisdiction are NOT included here — those are tracked separately under data-workflows#144.

Spatial accuracy: every feature carries the note "Please check current species specific shapefile" — the aggregated layer is generalized for visualization. For the legal extent of any single critical habitat designation, consult the species-specific shapefile via USFWS ECOS.
