Cloud-optimized publication of geospatial datasets administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, hosted on the NRP Nautilus S3 bucket public-usfws.

The USFWS National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) is published in the separate
public-wetlandsbucket alongside Ramsar and GLWD; it is not duplicated here.
Critical habitat under the Endangered Species Act for species under USFWS jurisdiction (terrestrial and freshwater). Two layers:
Source: FWS HQ ES Critical Habitat (ArcGIS Feature Service, item 794de45b9d774d21aed3bf9b5313ee24). Polygon features only.
Marine species and stream-line critical habitat for salmonids and other species under NOAA NMFS jurisdiction are NOT included here — those are tracked separately under data-workflows#144.
Spatial accuracy: every feature carries the note "Please check current species specific shapefile" — the aggregated layer is generalized for visualization. For the legal extent of any single critical habitat designation, consult the species-specific shapefile via USFWS ECOS.
PMTiles source-layer is final for the Final layer and proposed for the Proposed layer (the last segment of --dataset in the cng-datasets workflow).
