These are raw and processed fisheries acoustics data of observations of a super-swarm of Antarctic krill collected in the East Antarctic (63°S, 79.7°E). There are also whale sightings data and coordinates of the super-swarm boundary. Recently (18 August 2026), at the request of the journal Limnology and Oceanography (L&O), a static copy the analysis scripts have been added. Scripts are also available in the following public repo: https://github.com/AustralianAntarcticDivision/Krill_super_swarm
R scripts for the visualisation and interpretation of fisheries acoustics and whale sighting data collected on and around a super-swarm of krill.
These are R scripts to help analyse fisheries acoustics data of observations of a super-swarm of Antarctic krill collected in the East Antarctic (63°S, 79.7°E). There are also scripts to help visualise whale sightings data and coordinates of the super-swarm boundary.
These scripts can be used with the data found here: https://source.coop/mcox/testkrillswarm. The scripts can be used to make some of the figures and biomass estimates found in: Cox et al 'Super-swarms of krill provide an oasis for foraging whales'.
NB At the request of the journal Limnology and Oceanography (L&O), there is also a static (as 18 August 2026) copy of this code also available at https://source.coop/mcox/testkrillswarm
