Data for calibrating sub-ice-shelf melt parameterisations for ISMIP7 Antarctic experiments: ocean model output, hydrographic observations, observational estimates of melt rates, buttressing flux response numbers, drainage basins and ice-shelf masks, and the meltMIP intercomparison inputs. Third-party model output and observations from several groups, each with its own citation and licence — see the per-dataset attribution in the product README.
Data for calibrating sub-ice-shelf melt parameterisations for the ISMIP7 Antarctic experiments, collected by the ISMIP7 AIS ocean focus group. The datasets are described in the AIS ocean protocol presentations (November 2025, Copenhagen March 2026, EGU 2026) and the ISMIP7 Protocol Cheat Sheet, and are used by the focus group's calibration toolbox.
Most of what is here is third-party ocean-model output and observations, redistributed
with the permission of the groups who produced it. Each dataset carries its own licence
and citation. The table below gives the licence for every directory; each directory
also has a README.md with the full citation for every file in it. The licence texts
are in LICENSES/.
The ISMIP7-produced files (the melt_*_target_term*.nc calibration targets, the
regridded masks) are derivatives of the datasets above and are shared under the same
terms as their sources; where a source is CC-BY-NC-4.0 the derivative is too.
Please cite the original dataset for anything you use from here — the citations are in
each directory's README.md — and the ISMIP7 AIS ocean protocol paper (submitted to
The Cryosphere, 2026) for the calibration method.
